Welcome to Year 4. I am Mrs. Bailey, the class teacher and I am supported by Mrs. Bottomley - our amazing teaching assistant. Mrs. Patterson teaches on a Wednesday so that I can complete my Assistant Headteacher duties.

Homework

Homework goes home on a Monday and is collected in and marked the following Monday. This will be a maths task, spellings and an English task. Additionally, the children have access to various websites including TTRockstars, Prodigy Game.

Reading Books

The children are encouraged to read appropriate novels and non-fiction books regularly. They are given time 15 minutes each day to read at school and we aim for them to match this at home. They should record this in their school diary and aim to have this signed by a parent at least once a week. Reading records are collected in and check every Friday.

General Reminders

• Our PE days are currently Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure the children have the appropriate kit for each day. In the Summer term, Year 4 will go swimming on a Thursday.

• The children will also need their own water bottle in school, which they have access to all day, please make sure that they are clearly labelled.
