The KS1 SATs will take place during the month of May. More information will be available nearer the time.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and is expected in the following Friday. In Year 2 this will include a Mathematical activity that focuses on their revision of learnt skills or a writing/SPAG activity. Additionally, the children will also have spellings to learn each week.
In Year 2, children are encouraged to read appropriate novels and non-fiction books regularly. This usually consists of our school banded reading scheme, however they are encouraged to read other age appropriate books. They are given time each day to read at school and we aim for them to read every evening at home. They should record this in their school reading diary. They also have the opportunity to visit the school library on a weekly basis, where they can choose a reading for pleasure book.
Worship and Reflection Areas
We have a dedicated worship and reflection area in class. Here the children are encouraged to spend time reflecting upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and consider how they fulfil each of our Christian values both at school and at home.
